Credentials without the shoebox of spares
Seven credential types, permanent and pooled, managed from the desk with a badge reader: tap to create, scan to assign, tap to test. The lifecycle is clean because the messy cases, loaners, expiry and returns, are designed in rather than worked around.
Site Commander manages seven credential types: employee, full-time contractor, contractor, visitor, driver, temporary and special access. Permanent credentials belong to one person for life. Pooled credentials are issued, returned and reissued. A 24-hour loaner flow automatically suspends a forgotten credential and restores it on return.
Day to day
The desk workflow, timed in seconds
Tap to create
Tap a blank card on the desk badge reader to register it, with label, type, optional expiry and duplicate detection.
Guided assignment
A scan-to-assign flow from the person's record with instant verification that the right card is now the right person's.
Instant testing
Tap any card and get a verified or mismatch verdict on the spot. 'My card won't work' becomes a ten-second diagnosis.
The 24-hour loaner
Forgot my pass: issue a temporary credential that automatically suspends the normal one and restores it on return. Outstanding loaners sit on the dashboard with one-tap return.
Expiry that means it
Set expiry per credential and expired credentials are rejected at gates and kiosks. Visual warnings flag missing or passed dates before they bite.
Pool at a glance
A dashboard tile shows issued, awaiting return and available pool credentials, with automatic numbering that never reissues a used reference.
Lifecycle
Nothing is ever quietly deleted
Full lifecycle with audit
Deactivate, reactivate, return and revoke, each recorded. Credentials are never hard-deleted, so assignment and attendance history is preserved forever.
Instant revocation
Revoke a lost credential and every affected gate gets its updated list immediately. The next tap is a denied scan with a reason, visible to security live.
Permanent and pooled, both first-class
Employee credentials that belong to one person for life, and visitor or contractor pools that cycle daily, managed with the same rigour.
History that answers questions
Who held this credential in March, and where did it go? The record is there, because it was never thrown away.
